Getting to know Myjabba
What is it? Myjabba is a service for friends, family, and co–workers to communicate and stay connected through the exchange of quick, frequent messages. People write short updates, often called "Jabbas” of 250 characters or fewer. These messages are posted to your profile or blog, and sent to your followers and are searchable on Myjabba.com search. It’s quick and simple, and fun. Do I need anything special to use it? All you need to use Myjabba is an Internet connection. Once you're logged in, type your first update into the web box. To get an idea of what other people are saying or doing on Myjabba, use the search facility to find like-minded individuals. How do I find my friends? When you create an account, you can search for friends by name or user name, or you can invite friends via your email accounts What does it mean to follow someone on Myjabba? Following someone simply means receiving his or her Myjabba updates. When you follow someone, every time they post a new message, it will appear in your Myjabba home page. New messages are added to your home page as people post them, so you always get the updates in real time. When you log in, you can see what the latest updates are. How do I know who is following me? Myjabba sends you an email when someone new follows you. Set up your email preferences to notify you when you have a new follower. The follower’s link on your profile page or home page's sidebar will also tell you how many followers you have. Can I delete people from following me? Yes, you can. If you delete someone, they wont be able to follow you or send you any messages. If your account is public, they'll still be able to view it, but they wont show up on your followers list, and you wont be on their following list. How can I send updates to Myjabba? Myjabba can at this stage only receive updates via the web. Why is there a star at the end of updates? The star is a way for you to mark an update as favourite. People can view your favourites, and you theirs. Can I edit a entry once I post it? Nope. Once it's out there, you can't edit it. You can delete an update by clicking the X icon on the right end of the update, but you can't make changes. How can I save my password? Once you turn your cookies on in the browser, Yout password will be saved, when you click the check box 'Remember Me' while logging in. Report spam by following info@myjabba.com Why should I use Myjabba instead of other similar web applications? You don’t need to. We set this site up because we felt that other sites were too clinical and the character limitation was frustrating. We did not think others would change their set up just for us, consequently we set up this site to give a better visual feel, more flexibility and by limiting entries to 60 days we hope to keep the content fresh.
